Where are Hetzner invoices located?

In Hetzner Accounts at accounts.hetzner.com/invoices. Note this is separate from the Hetzner Cloud Console and Hetzner Robot. All three share the same login but have different dashboards. Invoices only live in Accounts.

Does Hetzner send invoices by email?

Yes, automatically to the billing email on file each month once invoices are generated. If you added a different email for technical notifications, make sure the billing email is the one your accountant monitors, not a developer alias.

Can I bulk download Hetzner invoices?

Not from the web UI. The Invoices page is one click per invoice. Hetzner's public API does not expose invoices directly, so automation usually means connecting Hetzner to Inbox Ledger or manually archiving the email copies.

Why is my Hetzner invoice in German?

By default, Hetzner's invoice language follows the account language. Switch the account language to English under accounts.hetzner.com/settings, and new invoices will be issued in English. Existing invoices cannot be re-translated; the original language is fixed.

How do I add my EU VAT number to Hetzner invoices?

Go to Accounts → Addresses and edit the company address. Add your VAT ID in the VAT field. Once Hetzner verifies it through VIES, reverse-charge applies on future invoices (no German VAT). Past invoices cannot be adjusted retroactively; contact support if you need a corrected version for a recent month.

Hetzner charged me in EUR but my card is in USD. Why the exchange rate mismatch?

What happens to old Hetzner invoices if I close my account?

You lose access to the Accounts dashboard when the account closes, and with it the ability to download invoices. Always export everything before canceling. Hetzner support can sometimes help with historical copies but does not guarantee it.

Do Hetzner Cloud and Hetzner Dedicated appear on the same invoice?

Both are billed under the same Accounts entity. Depending on your setup, they may appear as separate line items on one monthly invoice or as separate invoices for each product type. Check the Invoices page to see your account's specific structure.

Sign in to Hetzner Accounts
Go to accounts.hetzner.com and log in. Your Hetzner Accounts login is separate from the Cloud Console (console.hetzner.cloud) and the Robot dashboard (robot.hetzner.com), though they share the same credentials. Invoices live in Accounts, not in Cloud Console or Robot.

Open the Invoices page
In the Accounts dashboard, click Invoices in the left navigation or go directly to accounts.hetzner.com/invoices. You see a table with the invoice number, date, total, and a Download button on the right. Hetzner issues invoices once per month for each active product.

Download the PDF
Click Download next to the invoice. The PDF arrives in German or English depending on your account language setting. If you need to change it, go to accounts.hetzner.com/settings and switch the language before triggering future invoices (past invoices keep their original language).

Hetzner is the European budget-cloud favorite: cheap, reliable, Germany-based, and a little old-fashioned in how it runs things. Its billing follows suit. Nothing fancy, but spread across three dashboards (Accounts, Cloud Console, Robot) that many first-time users mix up.

Hetzner issues invoices in EUR regardless of where you pay from. If you are outside the Eurozone, your card issuer converts at their own rate. Always record the invoice's EUR amount as the authoritative figure in your books, and treat the card conversion as a payment-side detail.

Why people stop doing this by hand

If you run one or two Hetzner Cloud servers and that is it, the monthly email arrives, your accountant gets a copy, and nobody complains. The moment you mix Cloud and Dedicated, add Storage Boxes, register domains, and operate across several Hetzner accounts (agencies do this for client isolation), the January-to-December PDF collection job gets old fast.

Hetzner's API does not expose invoices, so scripting is off the table. Automation comes from inbox-side capture (email forwarding) rather than portal API access.

Hetzner does not yet have native Chrome Extension support in Inbox Ledger, but the email forwarding path works well: every month Hetzner emails the PDF, and Inbox Ledger forwards the attachment into your dashboard automatically. Pro tips

Hetzner operates from Germany and issues invoices in EUR only. If your accounting is in another currency, record the exchange rate on the invoice date for clean bookkeeping.
Dedicated servers (Robot) and Cloud servers are billed on the same account but appear on different invoice lines. Both show up in accounts.hetzner.com/invoices.
Hetzner sends invoices by email to the billing address on the account. Double-check the recipient if you are not receiving them. A forgotten secondary email is a common culprit.
If you pay by SEPA direct debit, payment happens around the 15th of the following month. Invoices are available before the debit, so download and file them in advance.
Domain renewals through Hetzner's DNS Console are invoiced in the month of renewal, separate from your server invoice. Annual domain fees are small but easy to lose track of.
