Step-by-step: download invoices from Envato
- 1
Decide whether this is a Market or an Elements receipt
Envato runs two separate billing systems under the same parent company. Envato Market covers one-time purchases on ThemeForest, CodeCanyon, GraphicRiver, VideoHive, AudioJungle, and 3DOcean. Envato Elements is a monthly or annual subscription for unlimited downloads of stock assets. Each has its own portal, its own receipt layout, and its own login page even though they share the same Envato account login. Work out which one you need before you start clicking.
- 2
For Market purchases, open Downloads and statements
Sign in at account.envato.com and go to Downloads and statements. The direct URL is account.envato.com/downloads-receipts. This lists every one-time purchase you have made across all Envato Market sites, each with an item number, author, price, and the license type (Regular or Extended) you bought. The license at purchase time is baked into the receipt and cannot be upgraded retroactively without buying the higher license separately.
- 3
For Elements, open the Elements billing page
Sign in at elements.envato.com and go to elements.envato.com/account/billing. This shows your Elements subscription tier (monthly at around sixteen and a half US dollars, annual, or Teams), the seat count for Teams plans, and every renewal invoice since you signed up. Elements and Market receipts do not appear on the same page. If you use both, you need to visit both.
- 4
Download each receipt or invoice as PDF
On the Market statements page, click Download invoice next to each purchase row to get the PDF. On the Elements billing page, click the download icon next to each renewal. Envato is an Australian company (Envato Pty Ltd), so receipts list an Australian address and ABN. For EU customers, VAT is broken out on a separate tax invoice line. For Australian customers, GST is applied and shown in the tax breakdown.
- 5
Add tax details before your next purchase or renewal
In the Envato account settings, open Billing information and add your company name, address, and VAT or tax registration number. Future Market purchases and future Elements renewals will include it. Past receipts cannot be edited by you directly. Envato support can reissue a corrected Market invoice within a reasonable window after the purchase, usually the current quarter.
About Envato billing
Envato is two billing systems wearing one logo. Most finance teams discover this only when they try to close out a quarter and cannot find half the receipts.
Envato Market (ThemeForest, CodeCanyon, GraphicRiver, VideoHive, AudioJungle, 3DOcean) is a marketplace of one-time purchases, each with its own receipt. Envato Elements is a monthly or annual subscription with a completely separate invoice trail. Same parent company, same Australian entity on the PDF, two portals to visit.
If you have both an Elements subscription and Market purchases under the same Envato login, your receipts are split across two different pages. Envato Market invoices are at account.envato.com/downloads-receipts. Envato Elements renewals are at elements.envato.com/account/billing. Teams regularly miss one or the other on their first pass through the portal.
About Envato
Envato is an Australian company (Envato Pty Ltd), headquartered in Melbourne and founded in 2006. It operates two distinct product lines. Envato Market is a marketplace of one-time digital asset purchases across six sites, led by ThemeForest for themes and templates and CodeCanyon for code plugins. Envato Elements is a subscription service launched in 2016 for unlimited downloads of stock photos, fonts, templates, and video assets. Because Envato is Australian, every receipt from either product is issued by the Australian entity with an ABN, which makes AU GST and EU VAT handling specific to that tax relationship.
Manual vs automated
Manual

Why people stop doing this by hand
A solo developer who buys one WordPress theme every few months on ThemeForest does not need automation. An agency that buys themes, code plugins, stock video, and sound effects across the Envato Market sites, while also running an Envato Elements Teams plan with five seats for the in-house creative team, is a different situation.
Each Market purchase is its own receipt with its own license (Regular or Extended) baked into the PDF. Each Elements renewal is a separate invoice on a different cadence. If someone on the team buys an Extended license upgrade for a previously-Regular item, that is a third receipt for effectively the same asset. The statements page lists them all, but the only export is click-by-click, and the license type detail has to be double-checked on the PDF itself because a Regular license on a paid distribution product is a compliance problem, not just a receipt problem.
Cross-border tax makes it worse. Envato Pty Ltd issues all receipts from Australia. If your company is in the EU, you are dealing with VAT on an Australian invoice. If you are in the US, no sales tax applies but the ABN still sits on your receipt and your accountant has to understand why. Getting the VAT ID onto the receipt before the purchase is the only clean path, and that setting lives in a third place (Envato account settings) separate from either of the two billing portals.
Next step
A handful of Market purchases a year and one Elements subscription: the two portals are enough. Active buying on both sides with a team plan on Elements and mixed license types across Market items: connect the Envato billing email to Inbox Ledger once, capture every receipt automatically, and stop juggling two statements pages plus a support ticket queue for the invoices that need tax details added.
Where to look in the dashboard
- account.envato.com/downloads-receipts is where Envato Market one-time purchase invoices live
- elements.envato.com/account/billing is where Envato Elements subscription renewals live
- Envato account settings controls the VAT or tax ID applied to future receipts on both platforms
- Envato Pty Ltd is the seller entity; AU GST, EU VAT, and other regional taxes are broken out on the invoice line
- Teams plan admin for Elements is under elements.envato.com/account/teams, separate from billing
Before you start — quick checklist
- The receipt shows the correct license (Regular for single end use, Extended for paid distribution)
- Your company name is on the invoice, not a personal email handle
- VAT, GST, or other local tax is broken out where your jurisdiction requires it
- Envato Pty Ltd (Australia) is listed as the seller with a valid ABN
- Market one-time receipts and Elements subscription invoices are stored in separate folders, not mixed
- Author handout fees on Market are rolled into the total, not a surprise extra line
Pro tips
- Extended licenses on Envato Market cost many times more than Regular licenses and are required if the asset ends up in a paid product. Buying Regular and then discovering you needed Extended means a second receipt for the same item, not a refund on the first.
- Envato Elements bills per seat on Teams plans. Adding a seat mid-cycle generates a small pro-rated charge separately from the main renewal invoice. Watch for two Elements PDFs in the same month if you expanded the team.
- Author tax handouts and handling fees are included on Market receipts where applicable. Some EU customers see the split between Envato revenue and author revenue on the same PDF. The total is what you actually paid.
- Envato has run promo credits (Envato Market credits, Elements free months) over the years. Those appear as discount lines on the receipt rather than as separate documents, so the PDF total can look lower than the sticker price.
- Envato Tuts+, Envato Sites, and other discontinued or merged products may still have residual charges on older receipts. If you see a line you do not recognize, cross-check the date against Envato's historical product catalog before disputing.
- If you bought a Market item under a personal email and then moved to a company card, the receipt still shows the personal email as the purchaser. Envato support can change the name on the invoice for tax purposes, but only for recent purchases.
