Step-by-step: download invoices from Figma
- 1
Open team or organization settings in Figma
Sign in at figma.com and open the team or organization whose billing you manage. Click the team name in the left sidebar, then Settings. If you operate under an Organization or Enterprise plan, settings live at the org level, not per team. The direct URL is figma.com/files/settings/billing.
- 2
Go to the Billing tab
Inside Settings, click the Billing tab. You will see your current plan, seat count by product (Design, FigJam, Dev Mode), and an Invoices section at the bottom of the page. Only Admins and Owners see this tab. Members without billing permission see the plan but not the invoice history.
- 3
Download each invoice PDF
Click the download icon next to each row in the Invoices table. Figma issues invoices through Stripe, so the PDF layout matches Stripe's standard template with Figma, Inc. as the seller. Save one PDF per cycle for the period you need.
- 4
Grab tax invoices separately for VAT or GST jurisdictions
For customers in the EU, UK, Australia, India, or Japan, Figma issues a tax invoice alongside the regular one. Both appear on the Invoices page, but they are separate PDFs. Download both so your accountant has the full set.
About Figma billing
Figma is excellent at design collaboration. It is less excellent at handing you a tidy stack of PDFs when your accountant asks for the last four quarters.
Every paid team or organization produces at least one invoice per billing cycle. Mix in FigJam seats, Dev Mode seats, pro-rated top-ups, and tax invoices for EU or GST customers, and one month can easily produce three or four separate PDFs.
Figma activates FigJam seats automatically when anyone on your team opens a FigJam file. If you notice a surprise FigJam line on your invoice, check the seat breakdown on the Billing page. The fix is to turn off auto-activation in Admin settings, not to ask support for a refund after the fact.
About Figma
Figma, Inc. is a collaborative design software company founded in 2012, headquartered in San Francisco. It sells three products under one roof: Figma Design for UI and UX work, FigJam for whiteboarding, and Dev Mode for engineering handoff. Plans are seat-based (Starter, Professional, Organization, Enterprise) with separate per-seat pricing per product. Payments go through Stripe, so invoices are generated with Stripe's layout and list Figma, Inc. as the seller.
Manual vs automated
Manual
- Sign in to Figma as a team admin
- Open Settings then Billing
- Download each invoice PDF
- Grab tax invoices separately
- Rename and save each file
- Send to your accountant
Automated with Inbox Ledger
- Connect Figma once in Inbox Ledger
- New invoices, including tax variants, land in your dashboard automatically
- Export to Drive, Sheets, or your accounting system
Why people stop doing this by hand
One Figma team with six designers on a Professional plan is easy. A product company running an Organization plan with 40 editors, 150 viewers, Dev Mode for engineering, and FigJam for workshops is not. Each product line produces its own invoice line, pro-rated additions produce interstitial invoices, and the EU entity sends separate tax invoices on top.
Enterprise customers with multiple org-level admins often end up with three people each thinking the other is downloading the PDFs, and nobody actually has them when the auditor asks.
Next step
If you run one Figma team with flat headcount, the Billing page is fine. If you mix FigJam, Dev Mode, and seat changes across an Organization plan, let Inbox Ledger capture each invoice and each tax variant as they land.
Where to look in the dashboard
- Team or Organization → Settings → Billing is the main location for invoices
- Billing settings → Billing information controls the legal entity and tax ID
- Seat management page shows who is consuming which seat type, useful before renewal
- Enterprise customers have a separate admin console with its own billing view, accessible via admin.figma.com
Before you start — quick checklist
- Invoice total matches the sum of Design, FigJam, and Dev Mode seats for the period
- Seat counts on the PDF match the seats you actually had during the cycle
- Your company legal name and billing address are on the invoice
- VAT, GST, or JCT line items are included where your jurisdiction requires
- Tax invoices, where applicable, are downloaded in addition to the main invoice
Pro tips
- Figma bills separately for Design seats, FigJam seats, and Dev Mode seats. One team can produce three billable line items in the same cycle.
- Editor and viewer roles are not billed the same way. Viewer seats are free in most plans but Dev Mode viewers are paid. Check the seat breakdown on your Billing page.
- Mid-cycle seat additions produce small pro-rated invoices between renewals. Downgrades show up as credits on the next regular invoice, not as refund invoices.
- On the Organization and Enterprise plans, unused viewer seats can be converted to editors without new invoices, but the reverse creates a credit.
- Figma's free starter tier has no invoices. Upgrading from Starter to Professional creates your first invoice and sets the billing email for all future ones.
