Step-by-step: download invoices from Slack

  1. 1

Open the Slack admin billing page

Sign in to Slack at your workspace URL (such as yourcompany.slack.com), then open the admin area. The direct URL is https://[your-workspace].slack.com/admin/billing. If you do not know the subdomain, go to slack.com/signin and pick the right workspace from the list of saved sessions.

  2. 2

Scroll to the Billing history section

On the admin billing page, scroll past the current plan details to the Billing history block. You will see every invoice for the workspace with a date, amount, and status (paid, pending, failed). Only Workspace Owners and Admins with billing permission see this. Regular members cannot.

  3. 3

Click Download PDF on each invoice

Every row in Billing history has a Download PDF link. Click it to save the invoice. Slack generates invoices directly (no Stripe layer), with Slack Technologies LLC as the seller for most regions and a local Salesforce entity for enterprise contracts.

  4. 4

Grab Enterprise Grid invoices from Salesforce billing if applicable

Enterprise Grid customers often have their billing moved to Salesforce's own billing system, which lives at a different URL provided by your Salesforce rep. Enterprise invoices are usually sent directly by email from Salesforce AR rather than downloaded from Slack admin.

About Slack billing

Slack keeps your team chatting. Slack admin keeps your workspace running. Getting a year of Slack invoices to your accountant still involves clicking one download button per billing cycle per workspace.

For companies with a single workspace on a Pro plan, that is fine. For anyone on Business+ with multiple workspaces, or on Enterprise Grid with a Salesforce contract on top, the collection side gets old fast.

The Slack admin billing URL depends on your workspace subdomain, so a bookmark from one organization will not work for another. If you manage billing for multiple clients or brand workspaces, save each URL in your password manager with the workspace name, not just "Slack billing." Future you will thank present you.

About Slack

Slack Technologies is a business communication platform founded in 2013 and acquired by Salesforce in 2021. It now sits within the Salesforce suite but retains its own admin interface, billing page, and identity. Plans are tiered (Free, Pro, Business+, Enterprise Grid) with per-seat pricing on paid tiers and negotiated contracts at Enterprise. Billing is handled directly by Slack for self-serve plans and by Salesforce AR for Enterprise Grid.

Manual vs automated

Manual

  • Sign in to each Slack workspace
  • Open admin billing
  • Click download on each invoice
  • Repeat for every workspace you manage
  • Chase Enterprise Grid invoices from Salesforce AR separately
  • Send the folder to your accountant

Automated with Inbox Ledger

  • Connect Slack once in Inbox Ledger
  • New invoices from every workspace land in your dashboard automatically
  • Export to Drive, Sheets, or your accounting system

Why people stop doing this by hand

A startup with one Slack workspace on Pro is not the problem. The problem is a parent company with five brand workspaces, each on Business+, each with different admins, different billing contacts, and different annual renewal dates. That is ten to twelve PDFs a quarter hiding behind five different subdomain URLs.

Slack does not offer a unified admin view across workspaces unless you are on Enterprise Grid, which has its own billing flow through Salesforce. Neither option gives you an easy bulk download.

Next step

If you run one Slack workspace with stable headcount, the admin billing page is all you need. If you operate multiple workspaces or have Enterprise Grid invoices arriving from Salesforce AR on top, let Inbox Ledger capture every invoice regardless of source.

Where to look in the dashboard

  • https://[your-workspace].slack.com/admin/billing is the admin billing page
  • Admin → Billing → Payment details is where the legal entity and tax ID get set
  • Members list shows active versus deactivated users, useful before renewal
  • Enterprise Grid customers receive invoices from a separate Salesforce billing system, not Slack admin

Before you start — quick checklist

  • Invoice plan (Pro, Business+, or Enterprise) matches what your workspace is actually on
  • Active member count on the invoice matches your billable seats for the period
  • Your company legal name is on the PDF, not just a workspace URL
  • VAT, GST, or local sales tax is broken out where required
  • Pro-rated charges for mid-cycle seat additions appear as separate invoice rows

Pro tips

  • Slack billing URL contains your workspace subdomain, so you cannot share a single bookmark across organizations. Keep a list in your password manager.
  • Pro-rated seat changes show as separate rows on the invoice, which means one cycle can produce multiple line items for the same plan.
  • Slack Connect with external organizations does not add billable seats on your side. Your own members are the only charge.
  • Billing consolidation for Enterprise Grid happens at the Enterprise level, not per workspace. One invoice covers all workspaces in the Grid.
  • Annual billing gets a discount but is invoiced upfront. You will not get monthly invoices during the year, just one big one at renewal.
